From the first violin/cello duet wedding under a tree in a backyard, to a full string section touring with a rock tribute band, Viva la Strings has met with great success along the way. Our name, Viva la Strings essentially means, “Live the Strings” and that is what we do! Our violinists, violists, cellists and guitarists live to share the good vibes that music brings with each and every one of our clients.
Weddings are joyous occasions. One way our couples share their joy with their guests is by providing a VLS string ensemble as a “mini concert” (the Prelude) before the start of the wedding processionals.
On the other end of the spectrum, memorial services and sacred events may be solemn times when a solo violin or solo cello speaks to the depth of emotion people feel in their hearts as they offer their last goodbyes to loved ones, or revisit significant life changing events of the past.
When they say, “the show must go on” that applies to our wedding gigs as well. One of our first quartet weddings at an Ohio farm turned venue. High winds and threat of a tornado sent everyone scrambling for cover. We finished the evening playing inside the reception tent as the wind pounded the tent canvas, but we did not quit until the party was over!
Celebrities and their events are a blast to play, and we have performed many! From the sons and daughters of Country Music stars to a famous Pug, a national league football player, a famous R&B singer and a famous comedian, we are not intimidated and bring our best! Yet ALL of our brides, grooms, corporate and private clients are all deserving of our best and Viva la Strings delivers.
Growth throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee
Looking back on those early days, we always brought our passion for live music, and we still do! But we also realized our passion is also for our client. If we cannot make the music that makes their day, then we did not do our job, no matter how well we perform.
We ask questions, we want to know your vision, your dreams and themes. Then we suggest music that underscores your design, your art, your creativity all to lock in the memories of your special event. Just as we did with the young couple that wanted that barefooted, flower strewn path in the woods wedding. We enjoyed the joy on their youthful faces as much as they enjoyed their winding processional through the woods to the acoustic sounds of our guitar and violin playing their requested song by Nickel Creek “Out of the Woods”.
One the other end of the musical spectrum, the bride who waited several years to get married, had her dream ceremony come to life with quintet of strings and grand piano performing her Processional of a Piano Guys version of A Thousand Years, and her Recessional of a raucous rendition of Don’t Stop Believing!
